Shakespeare Theatre Company presents a staged reading of
Written by Ama Ata Aidoo
Directed by LeeAnét Noble
For the fourth year, Shakespeare Theatre Company is inviting students from The Chadwick A. Boseman College of Fine Arts at Howard University to join us in exploring works that belong in the classical canon. The program includes dramaturgical sessions lead by STC’s Artistic Producer Dr. Drew Lichtenberg and a staged reading directed by STC’s Director of Belonging LeeAnét Noble.
This year we are exploring and presenting Ama Ata Aidoo’s The Dilemma of a Ghost. This play explores the clash of cultures when the son of a prominent Ghanaian family returns home from college with a new bride. This is the North American premiere of Dilemma of a Ghost, written by prolific award-winning author/academic/politician/poet/playwright Ama Ata Aidoo, the first published African woman playwright.
See performances by these up-and-coming actors in a riveting staged reading at the Klein Theatre.
