JUNE 27 – 29
Chamber Dance Project: musicians and dancers at Harman Hall

Artistic Director Diane Coburn Bruning
Principal Musician Sally McLain
Featuring The Red Clay Ramblers Band

Chamber Dance Project, Washington, D.C.’s premiere contemporary ballet company led by award-winning choreographer Diane Coburn Bruning, is pleased to present its highly-anticipated June Season: Ramblin’, featuring live performances by the Tony Award®-winning sensation, The Red Clay Ramblers Band June 27-29 at Harman Hall.

Contemporary ballet meets the rousing, soul-stirring bluegrass and old-time string tunes of The Red Clay Ramblers in two premieres: the world premiere of Book of Stones, a new ballet by guest choreographer Christian Denice and the Washington, D.C. premiere of Ramblin’ Suite, choreographed by Diane Coburn Bruning. In addition to this star-studded headliner, Chamber Dance Project will present two compelling works from their repertoire—Sur, a sensuous contemporary tango, and Weave the Wind, a sublime and contemplative piece—both featuring the artistry of our resident string quartet.

With a roster of twelve extraordinary dancers, ten musicians, and an unparalleled repertory, let Chamber Dance Project transport you to a realm where dance and music intertwine in exciting harmonies, creating an experience that resonates long after the final bow.

About Chamber Dance Project

Established in 2000 by award-winning choreographer Diane Coburn Bruning in New York City, Chamber Dance Project relocated to Washington, D.C., in 2013. Comprised of professional dancers and musicians, we are one of the few ballet companies nationwide that still performs with live music, inspiring exceptional vitality in our dancers and audiences.

Our work is a celebration of outstanding artists and designers collaborating on works that have contemporary relevance and resonance. Through innovative partnerships, we commission new works by emerging and established choreographers and composers while supporting dancers in their off-season with employment opportunities. Each season, we donate tickets to social service agencies, exposing professional dance and music to a diverse audience not otherwise afforded the opportunity.

From stage to film, Chamber Dance Project is a leader in the contemporary ballet scene, creating extraordinary experiences that push the boundaries of contemporary ballet while always performing alongside live musicians.
