2024 Props and Costumes Sale

NOTICE: The elevator at STC’s Administrative Offices is under repair and will not be operational for the sale this weekend. The sale takes place on the third and fourth floors of the building and is currently only accessible via stairs. We deeply apologize for any inconvenience this causes, especially to patrons who will be prevented from attending due to their accessibility needs not being met.

For one day only, shop our stages at the STC Props and Costumes Sale. Take home fabrics, home décor, costumes, hats, shoes, and accessories from STC shows gone by, including King Lear (’23), Peter Pan and Wendy (’19), Richard III (’18), Comedy of Errors (’18), and many, many more.
Important Information
- Please bring your own bags and tape measures.
- We cannot provide a list of items that will be available nor reserve items in advance. Items shown in promotional photos are not guaranteed to be available.
- We will not have dressing rooms. You may try items on over your clothing, but cannot undress. If you plan on trying on costumes, we recommend wearing close-fitting clothing. Please, keep your pants on!
- You will be responsible for transporting your purchased items on the day of the sale. We can help you get your purchases out of the building, but cannot watch them for you once outside or deliver them to your home.
- All purchases must be paid in full at checkout. Please note that this event is exempt from Bard Card or other promotional discounts.
- Credit and debit cards preferred. No checks, please.
- All items are sold as-is. No refunds.
- We recommend wearing shoes that are comfortable for standing and for climbing stairs. Be aware that this event is on the third and fourth floors of our building and there is only one elevator.
- The Sale will be busy! Please be patient and kind to STC’s staff, volunteers, and your fellow theater-enthusiasts. Aggressive behavior towards staff or other attendees will result in removal from the event.
About 516 8th St SE
516 8th St SE is the home of STC’s costume shop, rehearsal studios, and administrative offices.
Metro/Bus: 516 8th Street is accessible by Metro bus and is two blocks from the Eastern Market Metro station.
Street Parking: There is limited street parking in the neighborhood, both free and paid.
Garage Parking:
- 700 Penn garage: Entrance on C St SE at intersection with 8th St SE. Validation may be available with purchase at merchant stands in Eastern Market from Tuesday – Sunday.
- Lot 660: located at 600 Pennsylvania Ave SE.
