Shakespeare Theatre Company’s 25th Anniversary Free For All Festival

  • Backstage Tours
  • Mask-Making and Crafts
  • Stage Effects Demonstration
  • Stage Combat Demonstration
  • Special Performances for All Ages, including Mini-Summer Night’s Dream

And of course an opportunity to get free tickets to Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream, directed by Ethan McSweeny.

SCHEDULE

10 a.m.–11:45 a.m. Backstage Tours launch every 15 minutes. Meet in the Harman Lobby. Tours will last about 30 minutes.

10 a.m.–12 p.m. Face painting. Sidewalk.

12 p.m. A Mini-Summer Night’s Dream, STC’s abridged version of the Shakespearean classic. Most appropriate for ages 5-10, but all ages are welcome. The Forum.

1 p.m. Stage Combat Demonstration with STC Affiliated Teaching Artists Paul Hope and Eva Wilhelm. The Forum.

2 p.m. Free For All performance of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, directed by Ethan McSweeny.

3 p.m. A Mini-Summer Night’s Dream, STC’s abridged version of the Shakespearean classic. Most appropriate for ages 5-10, but all ages are welcome. The Forum.

4:30 p.m. Stage “Blood and Guts” Demonstration with STC Lead Props Artisan Chris Young. The Forum.

4:45 – 5:15 p.m. Meet the Fairies! Your chance to meet with several members of the cast. Take pictures, get autographs and find out more about the magic made onstage. Time with the performers will be limited. Even fairies need to rest. Orchestra Lobby.

5:30 p.m. Drewmaturgy: a Conversation with STC Literary Manager Drew Lichtenberg. The Forum.

8 p.m. Free For All performance of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, directed by Ethan McSweeny.

All day events: Props “Petting Zoo”, Costume Display, “Dress Like a Fairy” Photo Booth, Crafts and more!

All events and times subject to change.

We will make it possible for those wishing to stand in the ticket line for the 2 p.m. show to be able to participate in the events leading up to the 12 p.m. ticket release.
