Classes for Adults
Dear Community Members,
Thank you for your interest in our classes. Our work at STC Learning strives to provide a place for adults living in the DMV area to find community, cultivate connections, and explore artistic interests. Classes are open to all, regardless of experience.
We have classes available for those who are interested in acting, like to discuss and analyze the Bard’s work, or are looking to use theatre to build their skills in the workplace. Our Teaching Artists are theatre professionals working in the DMV and have the knowledge and skills to help you develop your artistry.

Fall 2024 Classes
Tuition
TUITION FOR ALL CLASSES IS $299
If you are unable to attend a class for any reason (including weather), no refunds or exchanges will be provided. STC rarely cancels events due to inclement weather. If STC cancels a class session for any reason, including inclement weather, we will email you. We will make every best effort to reschedule the class at a time convenient for the instructor and the majority of the students, but tuition is non-refundable.
If you are no longer able to attend the class as scheduled, please submit a written request to classes@shakespearetheatre.org. 50% will be refunded if registration is withdrawn until one week prior to the first scheduled class. Starting a week prior to the first scheduled class, TUITION IS NON-REFUNDABLE.
Financial Aid
In order to make our classes accessible to everyone, financial aid is available.
If you would like to apply for financial aid, please fill out our FINANCIAL AID APPLICATION. If you have any questions about financial aid, or are interested in setting up a payment plan, please email classes@shakespearetheatre.org.
All class participants, regardless of financial aid status, are required to pay a $10 deposit to secure their place in the class.
Getting Here
Are STC Adult Classes Metro Accessible? Yes. Our classes are held at 516 8th Street SE, which is about 2 blocks away from the Eastern Market Metro Station, accessible via the orange, blue, and silver lines. There are also several bus routes that run through the neighborhood. For more information, visit the trip planner on the Metro website or call 202.637.7000.
Is there parking available for adult classes? Limited permit and two-hour metered parking is available. However, Eastern Market is a busy neighborhood and we recommend using public transportation. If you need to drive, please allow ample time for parking, as finding a legal spot for the duration of class is often difficult. We also recommend you download the ParkMobile App to pay metered parking from your smartphone.
